Strategic business relationships
We are keen to diversify our support beyond the traditional funding sources. To this end, we are developing a social enterprise model to generate revenue. We have some initial ideas which may interest you and we are eager to hear if you have others.
1. Do you know of any organisations who find it hard to fill or retain certain positions who would be interested in exploring a new recruitment model?
We believe that a social enterprise model could be achieved through mutually beneficial relationships with recruiting organisations that could benefit from skilled-up Fastlaner graduates. We have an example to follow as this has been done in the US with a very successful organisation called Year Up – www.yearup.org.
2. Do you know of any companies looking to ensure that they have a truly representative workforce?
Whilst many organisations feel that they have cracked recruitment for ethnic and gender diversity, there still remains for most the issue of socioeconomic diversity. It is hugely beneficial to organisations to recruit into their professional and managerial ranks people who represent the full range of their customer base. Any other introductions to forward looking HR managers or CEOs much appreciated!
3. Are you able to introduce us to any potential funders wanting to help graduates to kick start their careers?
We are looking for wide support including foundations, trusts, and corporate sources.
Alternatively, maybe your company would like to sponsor particular events? The programme includes regular networking evenings for our graduates and supporters to meet up and we are always looking for new spaces for these events to be hosted to keep up the energy and excitement.
